Summer is in full swing in Vail Valley. Guests made their way to our beautiful town for the annual Fourth of July celebration, Vail America Days™, to enjoy a parade, spectacular fireworks, live music and more.
Vail America Days proudly hosts one of the region’s largest parades, which makes its way from Golden Peak on Vail Valley Drive, through the villages and ends at the Lionshead Mall. Parade participants proudly decorated bicycles, vehicles, instruments and themselves to reflect this year’s parade theme – Celebrate the USA! Great Moments in American History. Following a festive morning, many visitors indulged in a patriotic concert at Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater, featuring the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, prior to gathering at Golden Peak for a renowned fireworks display. Overall, it was a great holiday that generated many fond memories for both residents and guests.
The town of Vail has also been bustling with the 2015 Vail Lacrosse Shootout in town. The 43rd annual tournament began on Saturday, June 27 and ran through Sunday, July 5. One of the country’s largest lacrosse tournaments, the annual event draws teams of all ages and levels from throughout the country for ten days of competition. Teams are invited to enjoy extended stay accommodations next year at Solaris, where they will be able to treat themselves to a relaxing swim or soak following a long day of competition, and also enjoy the convenience of having a full kitchen throughout their weeklong stay.
If you missed the activities earlier this month, there are still plenty of options for an exciting mountain getaway this summer. We are proud to be situated in a vibrant summer destination filled with culinary, athletic and cultural experiences. Every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. get a taste of Vail in the village at the Farmer’s Market and Art Show, offering locally grown produce, fresh baked goods, clothing and jewelry.
Music enthusiasts will appreciate the Vail Jazz Festival, which takes place at a variety of venues throughout Vail Valley and welcomes 150 artists over the course of six signature performance series. Bluegrass fans may enjoy a free concert on July 15 and 29 or August 12 during the Vail Summer Bluegrass Series, which brings national and local acts to Vail Square at the Arrabelle Hotel in Lionshead Village. Finally, the Bravo! Vail Music Festival runs through August 6 and is the only festival in North America to host three world-renowned symphony orchestras in a single season.
