Things We Are Thankful For this Holiday Season

As Colorado’s beautiful fall season comes to an end and we prepare for Vail’s ski season to officially begin on November 20, we have been reflecting on the memories we’ve made in 2015, and are thankful for each guest we’ve had the honor of welcoming, hosting and making lasting memories with over the past year. Our commitment to delivering a personalized experience with genuine hospitality is what sets Solaris apart, and as Thanksgiving approaches, we thought it would be fitting to introduce our readers to a few of the friendly faces often seen throughout the property, along with insight from each on the people and traditions for which they are most thankful.

Front Office Manager at Solaris, Ligia Boteanu, is regularly the first team member guests encounter once they enter our doors. Originally from Transylvania, Ligia says Colorado reminds her of Romania, with each beautiful season bringing a fun activity, such as skiing, hiking and biking.

What are you most thankful for?
My family, friends and any person that touches and/or influences my life.

Are there any special traditions you look forward to during the holidays?
Christmas is my favorite holiday, with its unique spirit, presents and loved ones closed by.

Craig Lancaster, engineering manager, is originally from Orlando, Florida, and moved to Vail to further his career in hospitality, as well as to take advantage of the outdoor adventures Colorado has to offer.

What are you most thankful for?
I am most thankful for my wife, who puts up with my hectic schedule, as well as my 14 year old daughter, who is growing up just like her Dad, living a lifestyle that most kids only get to enjoy when their parents go on vacation to the mountains. I can only hope that one day she will look back and realize how fortunate she was to have grown up here in the mountains. I am thankful for all of the friends I’ve made along my journey. Lastly, I am thankful for the opportunity to work here at Solaris and be able to share my love for this destination and the lifestyle it offers to all of our guests and residence homeowners.

Are there any special traditions you look forward to during the holidays?
Skiing with family and friends, watching football, eating until I can’t eat anymore and then trying to make it to bed before my eyes slam shut.
